Union is tinkering with its multi-level operation as the new Hennepin Avenue hotspot gets going.

On Monday Union began a new policy for its main floor dining room, closing it to the public from Sunday through Wednesday. During those days it will be available exclusively for private parties and corporate events. The main floor dining room will remain open to the public for normal hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

A spokesperson for Union said that business has been good in all facets of their operation, and that the change was made to accommodate the large amount of requests for private parties they have been receiving. Most of owner Kim Talebi's other Kaskaid Hospitality restaurants were built with dining rooms specifically for private parties.

The three-story complex opened in November, offering enclosed rooftop dining and a nightclub in the basement in addition to the main floor dining room.
