Stadium environmental impact statement released

The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority (MSFA) has released the the final environmental impact statement (EIS) for the Vikings' stadium.

It has extensive information about how the $975 million stadium will impact its neighbors in terms of traffic, noise and site-generated waste, among many other things.

The EIS can viewed at the MSFA website or the Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall. Written comments will be accepted until Aug. 19. They should be directed to Steve Maki, Director of Facilities and Engineering Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority (MSFA) 900 S. 5th St. Minneapolis, MN 55415 or by email: steve.maki@msfa.com.

The new stadium wil have about 65,500 seats and will be open for the 2016 NFL season.
