Forte Fitness has made a foray into downtown Minneapolis.
The St. Louis Park-based fitness center has expanded to a new location at 1024 Washington Ave. S. Forte Fitness specializes in personal training and group fitness classes, including Barre, a strenuous ballet-inspired workout that has exploded in popularity in Minneapolis and its surrounding suburbs over the last few years.
There are three personal trainers employed at the new 2,000-square-foot Minneapolis location, with a few others splitting time between the two locations. Eventually Forte Fitness wants to expand to one more location in St. Paul.
“We want to have a series of small, local set-ups for personal training and results-focused personal training studios,” said Kelly Ganga, Sales and Marketing manager of Forte Fitness. “Really our thing is being very, very results focused.”
Forte Fitness founder Hamish Ganga has been known to go grocery shopping with his clients and show up unexpected at their houses to check the fridge to hold them accountable. He originally came over to the United States from Paris to play college basketball, but had to shelve his dream after blowing out both knees.
After extensive rehab, Ganga discovered his love of personal training and opened his first St. Louis Park location in January 2010.
