A City Council committee is holding a public hearing Monday afternoon at City Hall to review plans for a new restaurant called The Tangiers in the North Loop.

The restaurant is seeking a liquor license for the 152-seat eatery, according to a license inspector's report.

The Tangiers at 116 1st Ave. N. will have a menu featuring flatbread sandwiches, panini's salads, appetizers and a selection of desserts. Pending city approvals, it will also have cocktails, wine and beer.

The restaurant will be open 4:30 p.m.–2 a.m., Wednesday-Sunday.
