Restaurant is celebrating one-year anniversary

LORING PARK — Prairie Kitchen & Bar is celebrating its one-year anniversary this summer with the opening of a new outdoor patio and the addition of several new seasonal dishes to its menu.

The restaurant and bar located in the Minneapolis Hyatt Regency recently opened a new patio on Nicollet Mall with seating for around 40 people. The patio offers a cocktail menu of dishes to share, like BBQ Bison Sliders and Smoked Trout Dip, as well as several Prairie Kitchen & Bar signature drinks made with honey from onsite beehives.

The three hives were brought to a terrace on the Hyatt last summer and together are home to about 180,000 bees. Honey from the hives is used in several of Prairie Kitchen & Bar’s menu items and a number of their cocktails.

The restaurant also introduced new seasonal menu items this summer using locally grown ingredients. Vanilla malted waffles, an heirloom tomato and watermelon salad, walleye fritters and a cured salmon cobb salad are several of the items that have been added to the menu.

Prairie Kitchen & Bar opened at 1300 Nicollet Mall last spring. The restaurant features a 360-degree bar and focuses its breakfast, lunch and dinner menus around locally grown produce, meat, grains and dairy.
