There has been a spike in robberies downtown this month.

The Minneapolis Police Department's 1st Precinct is urging people to take caution in the wake of incidents. There have been five people robbed since Aug. 12, said Renee Allen, a crime prevention specialist for the 1st Precinct.

A group of three to five young black men, between the ages of 18 and 24, are behind the robberies, according to police. Most of the incidents have occurred between Marquette and 1st avenues. Typically, they have stolen a wallet or iPhone.
