Parkway Pizza owner Sam Nestingen says he plans to open up a second location in northeast Minneapolis in early December.
Nestingen says the new restaurant, located in the former 'Nuff Sandwiches spot at 2851 Johnson St. NE, is all set to go and he is just waiting on city approval before opening.
"For a long time I thought this would be a very good location for a pizza store," said Nestingen. "It's a good neighborhood, a good street corner and I think that people in the neighborhood will appreciate that we offer large portions of quality food for not that much money."
The menu will be pretty much the same as the south Minneapolis location, featuring pizza, hoagies, garlic bread and salads. Pizzas are made using local vegetables and cheese, and the sausage is made in-house. Seasonal beer and wine is also available.
Parkway Pizza moved its original store to the corner of Minnehaha Avenue and 44th Street in the spring. Parkway Pizza events, like school nights where five percent of its revenue every Monday and some Tuesdays are donated to a local school, hosting a haunted house for Halloween, and themed trivia nights will also be held at the new Northeast location, according to Nestingen.
