The fourth annual Picture a Park Photo Contest began accepting entries on June 20 and will continue to do so until the contest ends Sept. 1.

Amateur photographers can submit up to three total entries in four categories: Beauty in the Parks, Fun in the Parks, Sports in the Parks and Photos by Youth (ages 17 and under).

Youth can win four passes to either Jim Lupient Water Park or Wirth Winter Tubing Area and adults can win a Park Board annual parking permit pass. In addition, contest sponsor National Camera Exchange will host a public vote on the first, second and third place photos on its Facebook page, and the winners of that vote will receive a National Camera Exchange gift certificate ($100 for first, $50 for second, $25 for third) and a 16-by-20 print of their photo.

Last year there were 316 photos entered in the contest. Photos entered must be color, high-resolution and include a specific location within the parks system where it was taken.
