City Council Member Kevin Reich (Ward 1) is holding a community forum to discuss open data April 30, 6:30 p.m., at the Northeast Library, 2200 Central Ave. NE.

Reich will be joined by the city's Chief Information Officer Otto Doll and Mary Treacy, outreach coordinator for OpenTheGovernment.org.

Open data advocates have been pushing Minneapolis leaders to make government data more easily accessible online. City staff are working on a directive calling for an open data policy.

The community forum will be held in the library's meeting room.
