The latest business to open in Kam Talebi’s rapidly expanding Kaskaid Hospitality portfolio is Muse, a three-level, 23,000-square-foot events center in North Loop.

Muse will be exclusively catered by Crave, and serve as the home base its rapidly expanding catering business. Crave’s ninth location will open in Austin, Tex. in the spring.

Kaskaid also operates Union, Figlio, Urban Eatery and Boneyard, which is currently under construction at the site of the former Old Chicago in Uptown.

The ground floor of Muse features a foyer with a large, U-shaped bar next to the entrance and a spacious ballroom with a stage and lighting. On the second level a mezzanine wraps around the ballroom and leads into a smaller space with a bar, called The Loft.

The third level, called the Club Room, is a smaller, wood-paneled, more intimate setting with a nice view of the Mississippi River.

All told, the space can accommodate 575 seated and 1350 reception-style.

Previously the building at 107 3rd Ave. N was home to the problematic Trocaderos nightclub, which closed in 2009. Duluth-based Fitger’s Brewhouse had plans to make the building its first Minneapolis location, but management backed out of that deal last fall.
