DOWNTOWN WEST — The new French Corner Bistro & Bakery has officially opened its doors at 1200 Nicollet Ave. and plans to celebrate its arrival with a French soirée next week.

The 40-seat café hosts a grand opening party 5:30 p.m.–8 p.m. June 20. The event is by invitation only.

Owners Vladimir and Nadia Storchak and Chrystel Klein are excited to welcome new customers.

“We hope that people will come visit us,” Klein said. “We have a very nice ambiance. Customers can enjoy a good meal and glass of wine to relax after work.”

The bakery serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, including an à la carte service for busy downtown diners. Guests of the bistro can enjoy an authentic French selection of pastries, soups, salads and sandwiches. And as of their April 15 public hearing, French Corner is now an alcohol-serving establishment.

“We have so many things,” Klein said. “We are most excited about our pastries and salads. We have a very good chicken salad and a sandwich with prosciutto.”

The French Corner Bakery Bistro officially opened for business on June 3. It’s location is adjacent to Dahl Pharmacy on the south end of Nicollet Mall.

Restaurant hours are 6:30 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m.–3 p.m. Sunday. Along with the food selection, in-house Wi-Fi is also available for visitors.

“We just hope that we will be a good fit for Minneapolis, and hopefully people will enjoy our food,” Klein said.
