If your wallet is full of a bunch of tattered punch cards from your favorite businesses, Front Flip may be the app for you.

Front Flip is a new customer loyalty app that has recently partnered with dozens of Minneapolis businesses. Here's how it works: After downloading the app, it will show you a list of businesses nearby where QR codes will be available to scan. Scan the code to get a virtual scratch-off, and “scratch” the card for the chance to win prizes like half-price appetizers and buy-one-get-one entrees.

The Kansas City-based startup was founded in November 2011 and has rapidly expanded across the country. Last month it received $3.75 million in additional investment to expand its sales force.

“Front Flip’s loyalty program is fun for our customers. It’s tailored to our business. And most importantly, it effectively reaches customers where they are – on their smartphones,” said Tom Hanson, owner of Fuji-Ya, in a statement released by Front Flip.

The first 15,000 people to download Front Flip in Minneapolis will receive 10 gifts worth $10 each from different area restaurants.
