Mason’s Restaurant Barre, a new bar and restaurant located on 6th Street and Hennepin Avenue, announced it will kick off its opening with two weeks of celebration events.
The grand opening celebration will start with a VIP event on Thursday, June 20, open to friends of the Cowles Center for Dance and the Performing Arts, where Mason’s is located. The event will mark the launch of a new menu and will also feature happy hour specials and late night food.
Mason’s will hold a happy hour party 4 p.m.–6 p.m. Friday with free drinks 4:30 p.m.–5:30 p.m. On Sunday, Mason’s will offer a free appetizer spread and 2-for-1 drinks 9 p.m.–10 p.m.
The bar and restaurant will host an exclusive launch of local brewery 612Brew’s new seasonal summer brew, Tequila Mockingbird, on Monday featuring the beer on tap for $4.
Mason’s will offer specials including a free appetizer with a $20 food purchase and drink specials on Tuesday and Wednesday. From June 27 to June 30, Mason’s will have Twins Specials including 50-cent wings and beer specials each day.
On June 28, the restaurant will host a Living Social post-show reception for attendees of local dance company Black Label Movement’s final show of the year.
Mason’s will celebrate Twin Cities Pride on Sunday June 30, with music and drink specials all day. The grand opening celebrations will finish with a flash mob, which has yet to be announced.
Owner Lucas Miller said he hopes the two weeks of grand opening events will help the bar and restaurant drum up more business after its official opening three weeks ago.
“(This) gives people more of an opportunity to see what we’re about and what we do here,” Miller said.
