Loring Park Art Festival celebrates 15th year this weekend

This year marks the 15th year of the Loring Park Art Festival, an event that continues to bring art to one of the city's oldest parks. 

The festival will take place this Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 2 and 3, near Oak Grove Street and Hennepin Avenue in Loring Park.

Artwork from 140 artists will be featured and available to purchase, including oil paintings, watercolors, handmade paper, sculptures, textiles, photography, glass, ceramics, jewelry, mixed-media, wood, printmaking and more.

Besides observing art, visitors can paint their own paintings at Wine and Canvas and enjoy food and entertainment.

Saturday, Aug. 2:

• 10:30 a.m. // The Spots (across from the main building)

• 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. // Shakespeare in the Park, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’

• 11 a.m.–4 p.m. //  Greenwood Tree (roving the park)

• 11:30 a.m. // BUG and Friends, Twin Cities Ukulele Club (main building)

• noon–4 p.m. // Open Eye Figure Theatre (east side of the park)

• 12:30 p.m. // Tjärnblom (main building)

• 3 p.m. // Eclectic Blend (main building)

Sunday, Aug. 3:

• 10 a.m. // Diversity Street Dancers (across from the main building)

• 10 a.m.–3 p.m. // Paul Imholte (roving the park)

• 11 a.m.–4 p.m. // Greenwood Tree (roving the park)

• noon–4 p.m. // Open Eye Figure Theatre (east side of park)

• 1 p.m. // The Flemming Fold (main building)

• 2 p.m. // Shakespeare in the Park, ‘Twelfth Night’
