The Northeast Life Size Book Project is culminating with a launch and release party at Chow Girls, 1222 2nd St. NE, on Thursday, 6–10 p.m.
The project is a collaboration of Northeast residents, Artshare, an organization which works to create shared art experiences, and bookmakers Bridget O’Malley and Laura Brown.
Jennifer Arave, from Artshare, said the book came together over the course of four workshops in Northeast, involving people from throughout the neighborhood.
“[The book is] about Northeast life and it involves people that live in Northeast,” Avare said. “The more people that get involved the more life sized it becomes.”
Copies of the book and prints of the photos within it will be on sale at the opening, prices have yet to be determined.
The event is a part of the ongoing “First Thursdays” at Chow Girls, which is donating use of the venue.
