Workplace safety experts will be joined by members of the Minneapolis Police Department SWAT team

Minneapolis professionals have a chance to meet with and learn from workplace violence prevention specialists at a free seminar Wednesday morning.

Bill Whitmore is an expert in workplace violence prevention. As the president and CEO of physical security service AlliedBarton and the author of “Potential: Workplace Violence Prevention and Your Organizational Success” he promotes a zero-tolerance policy for violence in the office. His organization partnered with background screening company HR Plus to present the event.

Pam Paziotopoulos, senior vice president of Forest Advisors, a company specializing in campus and workplace violence prevention, and members from the Minneapolis Police Department SWAT Team will also be present to speak on matters of public safety and security.

The seminar aims to inform and rally office leaders like CEOs, managers and security and human resource workers in an effort to prevent office violence. The seminar will promote organized collaboration between these groups to boost workplace morale by lowering the risk of violence.

Attendees will be given time to speak with these public safety experts and a chance to win Whitmore’s featured book.

The seminar runs from 7:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at U.S. Bank Plaza, 220 South 6th St., and will include both breakfast and lunch for guests. To register, RSVP to Nathan Zoellner at nathan.zoellner@alliedbarton.com.
