Mortenson Development seeking approvals for 30-story apartment tower

The City Council's Committee of the Whole will review Mortenson Development's proposal for a new 30-story apartment  in the heart of downtown called 4 Marq at its scheduled meeting tomorrow.

The proposed 262-unit apartment tower will be built at 400 Marquette Ave. — a block from Opus Development's Nic on Fifth apartment tower under construction at 5th & Nicollet.

It will feature 4,000 square feet of street-level retail on South 4th Street, according to a memo from Minneapolis senior city planner Becca Farrar.

Much like many other high-end apartment developments proposed for the downtown area, Mortenson is planning to include many amenities for residents, including an outdoor pet exercise area, a 24-hour concierge, a business center, fitness center, bicycle storage and pet grooming center, among other things.
