On Oct. 13 the North Loop Neighborhood Association (NLNA) is hosting its first annual Explore North Loop event, where people can tour the businesses, high-rises and historic buildings that make up one of the fastest-growing neighborhoods in Minneapolis.
Ten dollars buys a ticket good for sampling beers at Fulton Brewery, touring the Minnesota Opera, and checking out a handful of the luxury apartment buildings and quirky businesses in the neighborhood.
“We’re trying to build connectivity in the neighborhood,” said Scott Woller, a NLNA board member. “Obviously part of it is to show our neighborhood to people interested in living here, but we also want to foster more connection between residents and business owners that are already here.”
There’s no set itinerary for the tour. It goes from 2-6 p.m. and many of the 20-plus stops will be offering freebies along the way.
All proceeds will go toward greening North Loop. The NLNA has already done a lot of planting along 1st and 2nd Ave. N and is hoping to do the same on 3rd and 4th Ave. N with the revenue from the event.
