Hennepin County is soliciting neighborhood input for a planned update to the Lowry Avenue corridor plan.
A community workshop will be held Feb. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Edison High School Media Room.
At the workshop a presentation will given regarding recently gathered information about Lowry Ave. NE, followed by community input activities. The workshop will focus on transportation and economic opportunities at six major intersections on Lowry Ave. NE: Marshall Street, Second Street, University Avenue, Washington Street, Monroe Street and Central Avenue.
The Lowry Avenue corridor plan was first enacted in 2002, and has been deemed ineffective by many Northeast residents. According to Hennepin County, “the Northeast community lacks the desire for the significant acquisition of property that would be necessary to realize the old vision and its outdated solutions,” so, “new approaches will allow a revised plan to more accurately capture community desires for right-sized transportation improvements and redevelopment opportunities.”
