The next brewery to open in Minneapolis will be Northgate Brewing.

Northgate will be unveiling its first brew, called Wall's End Brown, at Grumpy's Northeast on Jan. 28.

The brewery is at 3134 California St. NE. It will not have a tap room.

Wall's End is a malt-driven, northern English brown, made with English grains and hops.

“When we were home brewers, this was one of those recipes that everybody really enjoyed,” said Adam Sjogren, one of the founders of Northgate. “Our craft beer friends and our home brewing friends, even people who generally never drank craft beer still loved it.”

Sjogren said that for now only Grumpy's will have Northgate on tap, with more bars set to carry it soon. Growlers will be available from the brewery sometime in February.

The next batch of beer will either be another winter-style beer or a big batch of Spring English Wheat ale one of the brewers promised his fiancee for their wedding.
