612 Brew is working on getting city approval to increase its hours and host live music.
Currently 612 Brew is open from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 2:30 p.m. until midnight Friday, and noon to midnight Saturday.
The year-old brewery is seeking approval to be open Monday-Thursday 4 p.m. until 11 p.m., with no change to its hours on Friday and Saturday.
612 Brew also wants to upgrade its liquor license from to allow it to host live music with three or fewer musicians, although co-founder Ryan Libby cautioned that if the city grants the requests, they may not be implemented immediately.
“It could be summer, it could be fall,” he said. “We just want to have the ability to do these things, and once we have that ability we can sit down and talk about when it makes sense.”
Libby added that they may just open for events on Monday and Tuesday and that the bill currently being debated at the Legislature that would allow tap rooms to be open on Sundays would be much bigger deal for them.
“On Sundays we’re down there working and people stop by all of the time, want to come in, and we have to send them away,” he said.
612 Brew’s application will be discussed tomorrow at the Community Development and Regulatory Services Committee meeting.
