The upscale restaurant Borough and its lower-level cocktail bar Parlour have opened in the new ElseWarehouse apartments at 730 Washington Ave. N.
Chefs Nick O’Leary and Tyler Shipton have created a menu focusing on contemporary American dishes with modern flair. They previously worked at Travail — a critically acclaimed restaurant in Robbinsdale known for its adventurous approach to food. The menu has a lot of variety — everything from Scotch Eggs (an egg wrapped in bacon and sausage) to poached salmon to octopus served with butternut squash.
Head bartender Jesse Held, who most recently worked at Eat Street Social, will oversee the Parlour bar. The emphasis will be on classic and original cocktails with clever names like Plummer Crack, Buzz Around Town and Sunny Place for Shady People.
Borough seats 120 and features a bar with a garage door that will open onto a patio in the summer. Parlour can seat 80.
