A City Council committee voted today to ban the use of e-cigarettes in all indoor public places and places of employment in Minneapolis.
The proposed ordinance would make Minneapolis regulations mirror the state’s Freedom to Breathe law. The full City Council will vote on the measure Dec. 5.
The Health Department would be charged with enforcing the ordinance. A first violation would carry a $200 ticket and subsequent violations could carry up to a $2,000 fine.
