City launches open data portal

The City of Minneapolis' open data portal is now live — an online hub for a wide variety of data sets collected by the city.

Data about 311 incidents, fires, crime, rental licenses, liquor licenses, air quality and neighborhood group budgets, among other things, can be viewed and downloaded.

Additional data sets will be added in coming weeks and months.

Open government advocates have been pushing the city to make public data more easily accessible online.
