New Hope man charged in connection with St. Patrick's Day brawl

A 21-year-old New Hope man has been charged with second-degree riot in connection with the St. Patrick's Day disturbances downtown, according to the Hennepin County Attorney's office.

Hundreds of young people took buses downtown the evening of March 17, causing a chaotic scene as fights broke out and traffic was disrupted.

Besides Elijah Morgan-Hamilton's riot charge, a 16-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of riot and a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of assault. Those cases are pending in the juvenile system.
