Granny flats ordinance clears hurdle


A proposal to allow a property owner to build an accessory dwelling unit (aka granny flat or carriage house) on their lot cleared the City Council’s Zoning & Planning Committee this morning.

Authored by City Council Member Lisa Bender (Ward 10), the proposal allows for three types of accessory dwelling units: one built within an existing home, an attached structure or detached unit.
