Sweets shop opens in new Downtown condo's skyway

Amy's Classic Confections -- a candy store that peddles truffles, jelly beans and hand-decorated gumballs, among other goodies -- has opened in skyway level of the former Firstar Building at the corner of South 6th Street and Marquette Avenue.

The store, owned by Amy and Darrell Hauge, opened early March. The couple previously operated their business out of their home in Fridley.

The Hauges sell chocolate pieces made by local chocolatier B.T. McElrath. The chocolates sell for $56 a pound.
