North Loop president resigns

Jim Grabek, chair of the North Loop Neighborhood Association, has resigned his post, announcing at a recent meeting he planned to move out of the neighborhood.

The former Orono mayor said he planned to stay Downtown, but didn't reveal the location to board members at the March 31 meeting, saying he was still in negotiations on the sale.

Grabek and Alan Higley, the group's vice chair, founded the organization in 2001, breaking off from the Downtown Minneapolis Neighborhood Association, which represents property owners and residents in the central portions of Downtown.
