Tax-break timing spurs selling, but staying, Downtown

Some Downtown dwellers have nomadic impulses.

Condos in the North Loop neighborhood, in particular, are turning over fast these days. Some lofts have appreciated as much as 70 percent in the past two years, spurring savvy condo owners to sell and take advantage of a tax break.

Most North Loop sellers buy new, pricier units in the neighborhood, which is west of Hennepin Avenue from the river to Washington Avenue, then west of 3rd Avenue North.
