Crews with Knutson Construction Services, Inc., the library's contractor, have begun pouring concrete for basement walls. More than 90 feet of concrete has been poured as part of the 1,276-foot perimeter wall.
Workers have been pouring about 30 to 60 feet of concrete a day for the basement. Additionally, crews have installed more than half of the below-grade columns, known as caissons, which will support the weight of the library building.
