Council votes to eliminate 60/40 neighborhood restaurant rule

The City Council has spiked the 60/40 food-to-alcohol ratio rule governing neighborhood restaurants in commercial corridors outside of downtown Minneapolis.

The vote was unanimous at this morning's Council meeting.

City Council Member Linea Palmisano (Ward 13), who authored the ordinance revision with Council Members Elizabeth Glidden and Jacob Frey, said the rules put an “unnecessary burden” on “well-run, positive assets in our neighborhoods.”
