The Minnesota Orchestra won a Grammy on Sunday for Best Orchestral Performance of Jean Sibelius’ First and Fourth Symphonies.
The Orchestra recorded the sessions in May and June of 2012, a few months before the lockout began.
This was the Orchestra's third nomination under conductor Osmo Vänskä. In a 2007 interview with The Journal, Vänskä described the Orchestra's preparations for an earlier recording of Beethoven's Symphony No. 1:
